So last week[when Joo hee originally released a video of her dancing] and there were comments like ‘they should do dance music’ and I’m sitting here like – pardon my French – he-fucking-llo! They released validation period and I felt like I was in a small group of fans who actually liked that song. Anyways on to the review of this awesome mini album!

ê·¸ 입술을 막아본다/ Close Those Lips, the lead single and opening track has been on repeat since the day it was released. I really loved the fact that Baek Chan( the rapper) had more singing parts while Joo Hee and Lee Hyun took the backseat vocally. Following is 그대는 정말 대단해요/You’re Really Amazing, a laid back R&B track with Baek Chan taking the lead vocally. I love everything about this song: the jazzy piano melody, Baek Chan leading vocally and the lighthearted sound of the song overall.

노래도 슬픔은 못 고치네 goes for more of a electronic sound. This song is more similar to their older songs, with Baek Chan rapping and Joo Hee and Lee Hyun leading in singing. This song reminds me of their song No One Cries Because They Want To, like maybe this could be part two of that song. U Make Me Feel Brand New falls back into that laid back, lazy sound. The singing is more relaxed, but still powerful. Another great track to just chill to. Dilemma ends the album with a sorrowful tone. Also continuing in the laid back/ lounge style.

8eight is one of the few groups that I know will successfully deliver great song consistently. 5/5
