Cube Entertainment’s first solo artist, G.NA definitely sparked some interest in me when she released I’ll Back Off So You Can Live. She has a really good voice and it’s rare to find that in an idol. *requested by miss_vicky
êº¼ì ¸ 줄게 잘 ì‚´ì•„ (‘I’ll back off so you can live G.Na’s debut song was really good for a rookie. The song is a pop-ballad featuring a rap Yong Jun Hyung of BEAST that I could do without. The MV is adorable and simple.
ì• ì¸ì´ ìƒê¸°ë©´ í•˜ê³ ì‹¶ì€ ì¼ /Things I Want to Do When I Have a Lover featuring Rain is like the cheesiest song ever, but I do like Yoseob of BEAST and Ga Yoon of 4minute( other members of Cube Ent.)’s cover of the song, I think it fits their voices better. Supa Solo (ft. Swings) has that hard bass that a lot of Cube artists are known for, but something about this song just didn’t reach that level of fierce for me. The chorus isn’t as great as the song builds it up to be, but it’s an okay song.
Loving You shows off G.NA’s English skills and while sweet, I just get tired of this song. It’s missing the umph that I usually want in a song. The album closes with 소문났어요/Rumor, a ballad. This reminds me of an OST song, it’s pretty, but I’m not really fond of it.
G.NA had a really good debut track plus she got to do a duet with Rain. She has a powerful voice and I hope she gets more songs that can really show it off. I rate this 4/5.
