Hwayobi returns with her self-titled 7th album marking her 10th anniversary. The album features raps by Outsider and Beenzino. Hwayobi shows her true self with 6 out of the ten songs penned by her and all composed by her. Congratulations Hwayobi, we hope you have a decade more of success in you career!
It’s about the guy who only calls her when he needed her.I like when this is performed live, it’s such a fun to sing and a total ‘woman’s anthem’ LOL Seriously, this is for all the girl’s to know that they aren’t booty call’s.
Bye Bye Bye Is the title track(Watch MV) a solid R&B track about a girl who cannot get over a past lover. I think the song might really be about her and Untouchable rapper, Sleepy. Her vocals flow nicely with the piano and drum.
Sso WhatThis is a light pop song and I really enjoy the chorus. The rap portion explains that the guy wishes to be with her but doesn’t want to create trouble (with the girlfriend) but she can find him when he’s alone. But she still believes that he should be her boy.
Baby Gone Baby Gone
This is a favorite of mine, the rap from Outsider is superb and makes the song more than another song about a guy breaking up with the girl.
Cream No Sugar
The beginning of this like a standard ballad, but then the drums, bass and piano bring in the heart of the song. The bridge mixes in a little guitar to give it a tango beat, reminiscent of ‘Please Call Me‘. It reminds me of a song that would be on an OST for maybe a drama like Coffee House. The song is about how love was a lie.
가끔은.. 남자도.. (Sometimes… Guys too…)
The Spanish guitar and pop beat make this song laid back and very relaxing without being boring. The song is about a person willing to do anything for love.
More than love
As stated in the song, the person’s love so strong that she wishes for more, and became afraid of parting. Not really a ballad, it has a hint of R&B beats with a sensual feeling to them.
This song has a funky beat that has a old school feel to it with refreshed beats. The guitar is really makes this song. This is about how a girl learns about loving herself more and true love after the guy left, She doesn’t care anymore and it too late for the guys to regret.
I like the club feel of this song; very 70’s .The thing about doing a song that has the “70’s” feel to it, is to not make it annoying with a lot of extra and crappy lyrics, like a lot of artist’s do attempting to make their song more appealing. Hwayobi does the 70’s/club right; my only plea is : stop repeating the lyrics, we get it! This song is about a girl’s plea to make a guy not leave her.
